Introducing EMMA AI — our digital call assistant
To help improve access to the surgery and support our reception team, we use EMMA AI, a digital call assistant.
EMMA AI is here to help answer and direct certain patient telephone queries, especially during busy periods. She can support with general information and help guide patients to the right service or next step.
What EMMA AI can help with
EMMA AI may be able to help with queries such as:
- General information about the practice
- Signposting to the correct service
- Taking details so the team can review your request
- Helping direct your call to the most appropriate person or team
- Supporting the practice during busy telephone periods
What EMMA AI cannot do
EMMA AI is not able to check clinical systems in real time and cannot confirm whether:
- Your prescription is ready
- A prescription has been signed by a GP
- A referral has been completed
- Test results have been reviewed
- A GP or clinician has actioned a request
- A specific document, letter, or form is ready for collection
For these types of queries, your request may need to be reviewed by a member of the practice team.
Please note
EMMA AI is designed to support the practice team, not replace them. If your query needs human review, clinical input, or access to your medical record, it will be passed to the appropriate member of staff.
If your query is urgent or you feel you need medical help, please follow the usual NHS guidance: contact 111, attend an urgent treatment centre, or call 999 in an emergency.
Contact us online
Contact your doctor online with AccuRx.
You can contact us online during our core hours (Monday to Friday, 8:00am–6:30pm) for:
- Non-urgent clinical requests
- Repeat prescription requests and medication queries
- Administrative requests
All requests will be reviewed and responded to within one working day.
*Please note: A response does not always mean an appointment. We will let you know what happens next — this may include triage, booking an appointment, signposting to another service, or providing advice.

Using AccuRx when the surgery is closed
If you require support when the surgery is closed (including weekends and bank holidays) you can still use the AccuRx service for self-help and pharmacy advice regarding your condition.
If you have a medical problem and you're not sure what to do, please use the 111 online service: NHS 111 online
As always for immediate emergencies, call 999.
